Get Involved At The RecoverED Project

We are currently looking for a few more team members in the positions of public relations, human resources, projects specialists, and written publications officers. Team members usually commit 2+ hours of time a week for at least 6 months. Below are some short position descriptions, if you are interested in applying, please contact info@therecoveredproject.org for the application or to ask any questions.
Public Relations Officer: Works on outreach, collaborations, research, directing the team’s vision, planning events, and developing our youth advocates. This role is best for someone orgainzed, knowledgeable of eating disorders and mental health, a great communicater, and preferrably experinced in online outreach.
Human Resources Officer: Works on building a safe, respectful, and joyful environment for our team to work in. Tasks include planning team socials and monitoring team reports and hours. Note that this role requires less hours a month than other roles. This role is best for someone who wants to focus on team health and structure.
Written Publications Officer: Works on writing articles for the blog, creating the newsletter as a part of the team, editing blog submissions, conducting interviews for the blog, and coordinating outreach with blog writers. This role is best for writers and those passionate about highlighting others' voices.
Projects Specialist: Works in planning, orgainzing, and conducting many of our projects including Cards with Courage, Workshops and Webinars, and other upcoming programs. This role is best for someone who can work well with a team, take initiative, has creative solutions,and enjoys event coordination.

Ambassadors are representatives of The RecoverED Project team and values. Unlike volunteer team members, the time requirements are much shorter and more flexible. Ambassadors support The RecoverED Project programs, attend The RecoverED Project events, and can participate in opportunities including tabling, sharing their story via the blog or speaking at a webinar, or other ambassador-only opportunities.

Are you a High School or College student? We would love to work with you to bring The RecoverED Project to your school via a club or chapter. The RecoverED Project clubs work to aid us in volunteer based events, programs, and projects. Additionally, the main function of the club is to provide a space away from diet-culture that promotes recovery values on campus. The clubs are not support groups, but the goal is to bring recovery-driven projects to your campus. For more information, please view the “Clubs and Chapters” tab or reach out to the contact below.

You can volunteer to make cards to send to patients in eating disorder recovery. Cards can be made by groups or individuals and we collect them year round. For more information, please check out the “Cards with Courage” tab and fill out the contact box.

Each month, The RecoverED Project will host a webinar or workshop. If you are interested in speaking at a webinar, as an eating disorder professional or lived experience speaker, please contact the contact below. We are always accepting blog submissions for The RecoverED Project blog. Blog articles can be research based, your recovery journey, insights from a caregiver, pro-recovery articles, poems, art, or written from an eating disorder professional. We are always working for eating disorder professionals and or advocates to speak at webinars, particpate in our “Instagram Takeovers”, write (or be interviewed for) a blog article, or to help shape programs. If you are a teacher interested in supporting eating disorder recovery, we would love for you to host a Cards with Courage event in your classroom! Paper, markers, and our slideshow is all you need to set your students up to make fun, joyful, and supportive cards to send to eating disorder paitents.
